DDA has set certain policies in place regarding payment, behavior and general operation of the studio. These policies are for the greater good of
the school as a whole. Due to past policy abuse all policies are non-negotiable and must be followed and accepted by students & parents attending
General Studio Policies
ABSOLUTELY NO SHOES ALLOWED past the entrance to the studio!
Children’s dance shoes must be completely clean so our studio floors do not get damaged. Hip Hop runners are to be for indoor use only.
Payment methods and procedures must be followed.
All complaints should be addressed to the office in writing.
We reserve the right to change class times if needed based on the number of registrations in any given year.
No student shall be accepted into class until all forms are filled out completely and all fees are paid up to date.
Parents are responsible to ensure all information is received and reviewed regarding class times, dress codes, events and policies. If there are questions regarding these matters the onus is on the parent to contact the office for clarification
We have found in the past that we do not get students attending the Statutory Holidays so DDA is closed on the following days:
Extra time is spent when we do additional practices, competitions, rehearsals, and performances held outside the studio. There are no deductions on tuition fees.
However, for Thanksgiving Day and Remembrance Day we offer to attend another class that is suitable within that same week only. Halloween night would get cancelled if on a week night and a makeup day would be scheduled. These classes would only be for the younger students.
We are also closed for 2 weeks during the Christmas Holidays and 1 week for Spring Break. Please review our studio calendar for exact dates.
Information & Communication
We are proud to provide you with the current technology for registering online, account information, emailing receipts, email newsletters and handed out info sheets and schedules to keep you up to date.
We have found that parents do not always receive handed out information sheets from their children. So to ensure you get the proper communication we post everything on our website and the bulletin board in the front waiting room. Additionally we send out a monthly studio newsletter by email, so please ensure you provide us with an up-to-date email address. No newsletters are given out unless you inform the office that you want to manually receive all paper work. We do however give out info sheets pertaining to our recital and picture schedules but these are hand delivered to the parents.

Lost & Found
We prefer that all younger children be picked up inside the studio. Older students waiting outside the front door should be present with another student. If by themselves, they should be waiting inside. No students are allowed to go to the park. Please discuss pick up procedures with your children.
Although we all love to watch our children learning, it is actually quite uncomfortable for the students to learn (and make mistakes) while people are watching. In order for your child to get the best out of class time we have implemented a no spectator rule and hope this will be respected. This includes friends of the dancers who want to come in and watch a class. We have one-way windows installed so that you can watch from outside the class.
We do not have an official parent’s viewing week but do offer the parents of all recreational classes the opportunity to come into the classroom the week beginning of December. Any competitive class will not be offered this opportunity.
Weather & Closures
In case of closures due to severe weather conditions there will be a notification made on the telephone message service 3 hours prior to class start time which can be confirmed by calling (780) 481-2487. We would also post information on our website under the STUDIO CALENDAR for that specific day. Every effort would be made to reschedule a makeup class or the need to combine classes together to count for that class missed.
Note: Sometimes it is impossible to put a note on the studio’s outside door. So please check our message service or website instead.
We use the secure studio director program for the registration process on our website. You can click on the program’s icons when registering to find exact details on how your information is protected.
No credit card information is put onto any computer work or program.
