The fun begins with the first step!
Age 3-6 yrs
Our purpose is to provide the highest-quality preschool education in a secure, nurturing, and stimulating environment. We meet these goals with our age-appropriate curriculum and ongoing communication with parents.
The first few weeks of classes serve as an introductory phase to help students become comfortable with the overall dance experience, the classroom, their teacher and their classmates.
Right from the beginning we focus on your child’s coordination, listening skills, musical awareness, and developing imagination. We accomplish this through age-appropriate music and songs, simple stretching exercises, ballet and tumbling basics and games in an environment of creativity. Some preschool students will incorporate simple tap-dance movements at age 5.
Parents, please be aware, preschool dance is about helping children learn to tap into their imaginations and express themselves creatively, not necessarily about learning steps (although they do get introduced to some basic steps). So don’t be disappointed if your child doesn’t pirouette around the house or look like a budding ballerina right away.
Recital & Pictures
All ‘First Steps’ students in our Full Year Program get to perform one dance routine in our annual recital at the Triffo Theatre. Students require a costume and are expected to attend the recital dress rehearsal. For information about costume costs and dress rehearsal fees please refer to our Registration & Payment policies.
Group and single pictures will be taken in their costumes during picture week end of the year.
Please note that dress rehearsal, recital and pictures are mandatory dates for all full year students. Dates and times are posted on our Important Dates page and our monthly Newsletter as soon as they are available. Make sure to mark your calendars!
‘First Steps’ Classes
Students are enrolled for the year (September – June) and classes are held once a week except of statutory holidays and school breaks. All info about studio closures and make-up dates/schedules can be found on our Important Dates page and under Studio Announcements. To download or print our First Steps class list click here. Note: Ages are according to turning that age as of Dec 31.
Boyz Klub – Hip Hop
45 min | Age 4-8
Designed for boys to further enhance coordination and strength in a masculine way.
Double Threat A Jazz/Ballet
45 min | Age 6
The dancer will begin to learn the jazz and ballet primary syllabus in a way that fosters creativity and encourages fun!
Double Threat C Tap/MT
45 min | Age 6
The dancer will learn basic tap steps that are combined with singing and movement to create a theatrical routine!
Mini Movers Ballet/Tap
45 min | Age 5
A combo class designed for Kindergarten students. The dancer will learn the fundamental steps in both ballet and tap.
Mini Musicals
45 min | Age 4-6
There is nothing more fun but to sing, act and dance with the perfect songs for this age group. ADD ON class: Students must be taking either TT, MM, DT A.
Tiny Toes
45 min | Age 4
A class designed for a Pre-K child. The dancer will be introduced to the basic steps and positions used in jazz and ballet.
Wiggles & Giggles
30 min | Age 3
Music, movement and basic dance steps are introduced in a fun, storyline based class.

Regular additional costs for Full Year Program students are required class dance wear, costume fees & stage make up, festival entry fees (for competitive students and recreational festival dancers only!) and dress rehearsal fees which can be found under Registration & Payment policies .
