Dance Type: Jazz

This is a performing class that will be entered into competitions and our year end recital.  What they learn in their Tech classes will be applied to their dance.

Prerequisites:     Dancers must be approved by a teacher for these classes. All dancers must enroll in Ballet Tech levels (except Novice dancers) and Jazz Tech levels (for Jr 3 and up) first before taking any Choreo levels.

Prerequisites:     0 exp required

Jazz is a fast-paced and fun class for those who like to move!  It includes a warm-up that develops strength, flexibility, coordination, and dance techniques specific to jazz dance. Our jazz classes also include dynamic choreographies set to popular music and encourage individual expression and development of personal style.

Recital/Costume:     This group enjoys going into festivals and performing in our annual recital. Will require a costume.

Prerequisites:     Must be 4 yrs old, PreKinder age

This class is for Pre-K students.  We will begin to phase out creative imagery to increase technical and dance vocabulary for steps.  It is based on ballet technique with a little jazz flare to music they enjoy.

Recital/Costume:     This class does participate in our year end recital and will require a costume.

Dance Wear:     Please refer to Dance Attire for required dance wear for this class.

1 hour/week              Age 12-19              Recreational/Teen Beginner              Full Year Program

Prerequisites:     0-2 yrs exp, no ballet is required

Our Jazz teen class provides a unique opportunity for teens and pre-teens who want to train in jazz but have limited or no experience in the discipline. This class uses modified elements from the competitive grades to build up strength and technique. Note: Most teen dancers will complete 2-3 years of the teen class before moving into the competitive grades should they be recommended.

Recital/Costume:     This class performs a routine in our annual recital and will require a costume.
