Dance Type: Lyrical

1:30 hours/bi-weekly      Age 12-19      Commitment runs October-May

Prerequisites: ADD-ON class. Must be registered in Contemporary Int3C-SR3C.

Lyrical dance is characterized by grace, flowing lines, delicate transitions, and ethereal beauty. This class will allow our more mature dancers to re-visit their contemporary roots by exploring the qualities of Lyrical dance as a more mature dancer.

  • Dancers must commit to attending FRIDAY classes bi-weekly. (includes long weekends).
  • Attendance is of utmost importance.
  • A contract will be given that will outline the expectations for each line group.
  • This group will compete in 4 festivals (entry fees are extra).
  • This group will perform in our annual recital.
  • A costume will be required. (Costume fees are extra)
  • There will be a one-time payment of $125 to join. Payment will be applied to you account upon signing agreement in September.
  • No refunds given if dancer drops the class once the first class starts.

Classes will start Friday, October 12.

MINIMUM OF 20 DANCERS NEEDED TO RUN THE CLASS AS A LINE.

Registration:    Those interested in joining any of our LINES are welcome to express interest by email or in person once classes commence. You will receive an informational letter and contract. Once the signed contract is submitted, the office will register you into the LINE(S) of your choosing. You may choose multiple LINES to join.

TAYLOR SWIFT ERAS CAMPS  (Ages 4-11)
August 12-16, 2024

Step into the spotlight and dance through the iconic eras of Taylor Swift at our Eras Tour Summer Camp! Each day, we’ll learn different dance styles and techniques that capture the spirit of Taylor’s music, all while having fun and expressing ourselves through dance. Let’s celebrate the magic of each era with the best of  T-Swift’s hairstyles and makeup masterpieces, sing-along sessions & Swiftie karaoke, Taylor inspired friendship bracelets and fashion accessories, themed crafts, and a final grand performance in front of family and friends on our last day! Are you ready for it?

AM camp (Age 4-7):   9:00 am – 12:00 pm
PM camp (Age 7-11):   12:30 – 3:30 pm

BARBIE SUMMER CAMPS  (Ages 4-11)
July 15-19, 2024

AM CAMP (Ages 4-6):  9 am – 12 pm
Welcome to Barbie Camp, where jazz, ballet, and creative movement blend into a Barbie-tastic tale! Dive into a whirlwind of Malibu Beach, Ice Cream, Astronaut Barbie, Baker Barbie, Pop Star, and Fashionista adventures. Get ready for daily crafts matching our themes, enchanting Barbie story time, playful games, and catchy sing-alongs.

PM CAMP (Ages 7-11):  12:30 – 3:30 pm
Our afternoon camp is exclusively reserved for children aged 7-11, where we will delve into Barbie-inspired concepts within the Lyrical genre. Participants will engage in a craft related to the theme covered in their Lyrical class, along with additional Barbie-themed activities offered in the morning.

Both camps will wrap up with a dazzling performance where campers will showcase their dances and artworks to their families and friends!

Prerequisites:    Enrolled in Ballet Jr3C, Jr4C, Int2C levels

A combination of jazz and ballet – Lyrical combines many elements of classical ballet with the freedom of jazz.  Most lyrical dance pieces are performed to music where the choreography tells a story to the lyrics.

Recital/Costume:     Lyrical C classes perform a routine in our annual recital and will require a costume.
