I teach Boyz Klub Hip Hop, junior recreational Hip Hop, and Double Threat A and B. I also teach the Hip Hop six week program.
What led you to work in this field?
Prior to teaching, I danced at DDA for twelve years, the last eight of which were in the competitive program. The styles I danced in were Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, Hip Hop. As I got older I became increasingly more interested in choreography and teaching. I have received training from DDA. I also attended multiple seminars at the Alberta Dance Teacher Convention and Expo.
Did you have a favorite style of dance growing up?
Contemporary and Musical Theatre!
When did you join DDA?
I danced at DDA for 12 years and then started teaching in 2021.
Best thing of being part of the DDA team?
I love how DDA feels like a family. Everyone is helpful and wants each other to succeed. I can now say DDA is a very positive environment as a student AND a teacher.
What is a fun fact about you?
I love clothing and aesthetics.
Where do we find you when you are not working?
Usually spending time with my family, friends, and boyfriend! I also go to the mall quite often.
Your advice to young dancers?
Never compare yourself to others. As long as you are continuing to grow, practicing, and trying your best you are doing amazing.
